The drain saucers are well made from quality material and present as durable items. I find them aesthetically pleasing. Water does not sit anywhere in the saucer as the design drains all water into the drain well.
So far so good.
If installed in a greenhouse or balcony these saucers work as described however when used in a grow tent with limited height the saucers stand at 15cm tall. I note that without the saucer legs attached the saucer does not sit flat or level due to the depth of the drain well, ie: the drain well sits below the level of the leg stumps such that when placed on a flat level surface. The leg stumps need to be increased in length by 12mmm in order for the tray to sit level with the drain well still projecting beneath the surface and will require to be placed over the edge of the surface or as i have, an opening in the surface that allows the drain well to project into.
A rubber grommet is provided for the drain well, designed for a 19mm drilled hole. When the included barbed T piece is used it forms a secure attachment to the saucer. I note the internal diameter of the grommet is 14mmm which allows the insertion of a 14mm od rubber hose although the attachment is not as secure as the barbed T piece.
After struggling for many years with tent drainage this is one of the simplest and most elegant solutions I have found not to mention a cost effective solution.
I have since purchased a Mars Hydro auto drainage system that in addition to the saucers provided by this twin pack kit, also includes an automatic pump system that allows disposal of plant run off to be pumped to a convenient drain location.
