How to Grow Plants with LED Grow Lights ?

Choosing a good plant growth lamp is just a good start. To get a good harvest, the correct use of the plant growth lamp is also the most important thing. If used improperly, they can be harmful to plants.

In this article, we will provide you with the 10 most common things you should pay attention to when using LED plant growth lights, so that you can grow healthy-looking plants and avoid any unnecessary troubles. This information is extremely relevant for beginners.

1.Planting condition

If the leaves closest to the light start to turn brown, you know that the plant has absorbed too much heat. If some leaves start to curl, this may also be a sign that the plant is too close to the light. Good ventilation usually helps to solve this problem.

The rate of photosynthesis and transpiration is directly affected by temperature, humidity, and airflow.

Temperature and humidity: 75*-85*F and 50% - 70% humidity

If Added CO2. PH is 6-6.5. You may add more calcium and magnesium than normally needed.

2.Sufficient but not excessive light

Consider how many plants you are growing and how many LED lights are needed to properly illuminate them. You should also pay attention to the brightness of the lights you use. Make sure you have enough lights, but still find a good balance between providing enough lighting and not over lighting.

Measure the floor space. Multiply the length times the width and this will give you the square footage. You should be able to get decent results with 30-50 actual watts of power per square foot.

Precondition: hanging distance at 12’’-18’’

Germination: 30%; Seedling: 50%-75%; Veg: 75%-100%; Flower: 100%

3.Proper hanging distance

Overheating or insufficient lighting may be caused by too much or insufficient lighting, but it may also be caused by placing the light too close or too far away from the plants.

Germination: 24" Seedling: 24"-30" Veg: 18"-24" Flower: 12"-18"

4.Lighting schedule

You should be careful not to keep the lights on all the time, or worse, on the contrary-forget to turn them on. This may sound trivial, but it is easy to mess up the lighting schedule, and even small changes can have a negative impact on plant growth.

Veg: 18/6(on/off) or 20/4(on/off) Flower: 12/12(on/off)

5.Watering level when HID is switched to LED

Conventional HID lamps generate a lot of heat and produce a lot of infrared light. This will dry out the plants and the soil, resulting in the need to water the plants more frequently. However, LED lights do not produce infrared rays and do not emit almost the same amount of heat, so there is no need for a lot of watering.

6.Protect and maintain LED lights

A little maintenance and preparation can save you a lot of trouble. It is recommended that you set up a power regulator and connect it to the lamp to equalize the input voltage to protect the chip inside the LED.

The light may be too strong, please wear your sunglasses when looking at it.

Some LEDs seem dim. They are IR. The human eye can not see IR very clearly, but you can wear sunglasses to check.

Please be careful not to sprinkle the nutrient solution on the light board, it may cause corrosion of the light board.
